Barker Morris were employed by the Main Contractor to advise on, design and install a Drained Cavity Membrane system internally and a Multi Coat Render system externally to the facades of retail units on the sea front of this popular coastal town.

The company assisted with the original design in order to identify an effective solution to long term water ingress problems within each of the units. The cavity membrane system was installed to vaulted ceilings, walls and floors in each of the units. It also incorporated the installation of an effective drainage system.

In addition the external rendering was found to be dangerous and showing signs of collapse to many of the unit fronts. Barker Morris installed a multi coat waterproofing system that replaced the existing and also followed the original profile. In this way the facade appearance has not changed but is now a “dry” reproduction of the original.
